Examination Pattern For Classes 9 To 12
Education, as planned endeavour , should aim at making children capable of becoming active , responsible , productive and caring members of the society. It is therefore, deemed essential that it must promote and nourish a wide range of capacities and skills in learners as possible.
Classes 9 to 12
The examination will be conducted as per the remodelled assessment structure following the latest CBSE directives for classes IX –XII which includes three major categories i.e Scholastic , Co scholastic and Discipline.
Each Session comprises of two Terms :
Term 1 : April to September
Term 2: October to March
Assessment Structure
For Class IX
Subjects – Language - Language – 1, Language – 2, Maths, Science and Social Science, Computer Application
Criteria of Assessment – 20% Internal Assessment + 80% Final Exam
Internal Assessment :
5% Notebook Submission
5% Subject Enrichment activity
10% of the written exam held till Final Exam.
Internal Assessment throughout the year will be as :
i) Pre Mid Term Exam (written exam for 80 marks with syllabus covered till announcement of exam dates)
ii) Mid Term Exam (written exam for 80 marks with syllabus covered till announcement of exam dates)
iii) Four Monday assessments throughout the year for 40 marks each (Total = 160 marks).
Final Exam - Written exam for 80 marks with full syllabus.
Attendance Requirement : All the students are required to complete 75% of attendance to make him / her eligible to take the examination.
For Class X
Subjects – Language - Language – 1, Language – 2, Maths, Science and Social Science.
Criteria of Assessment – 20% Internal Assessment + 80% Final Exam.
Internal Assessment :

10% Best of two Unit Tests*
1. Pre Mid Term Exam (Written exam for 80 marks with syllabus covered till announcement of exam dates).
2. Mid Term Exam (Written exam for 80 marks with syllabus covered till announcement of exam dates).
3. Pre-Board Exam – I (Written exam for 80 marks with full syllabus).
FINAL BOARD EXAM - Written exam for 80 marks with full syllabus.
Best 2 M.A.out of four will be considered for the Final Assessment.

Co-Scholastic Activities : Classes IX & X
Grading on a Five Point Scale (A-E)
1. Co-Scholastic Activities will include :
• Work Education
• Art Education (Students will opt for any one from the given options)
• Health & Physical Education
2. Discipline (To be graded by the teachers)
3. Assessment will be done on a five point scale once in a year.
4. No upscaling of grades will be done.
For Class XI
• During the First Term, one set of Monday Assessment will be held in all the five subjects opted by the student.
• In the Second Term two cycles of Monday Assessment will be held in all the five subjects as per the schedule given.
• Weightage for Final Assessment :
Term I: UT1 – 10% Term 1 Exam – 30% Total – 40%
Term II: UT 2 – 10% Term 2 Exam – 50% 60%
Final Assessment: UT1(10%)+UT 2(10%)+ Term 1 Exam – 30% + Term II Exam– 50% =100%
Minimum 33% in each subject must be secured in each Term and in the final assessment for promotion to the next higher class. In case of a subject involving practical work, a student must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical separately. In addition to this, 33% marks in aggregate are required for promotion to the next higher class.
Attendance Requirement : All the students are required to complete 75% of attendance to make him / her eligible to take the examination.
For Class XII
Term I - UT1 + Pre – Mid Term + UT2 + Mid Term
Term II - UT3 + Post Mid Term

RULES FOR SUBJECT CHANGE:
1. Change of subject(s) in Class XI may be allowed by the Head of the School but not later than 31October of that academic session.
2. No candidate shall be permitted to change his subject of study after passing Class XI.
3. The candidate shall not be offered a subject in Class XII which he has not studied in Class XI.
